Mountains

While many of these paintings are set in Yosemite National Park, you'd never guess it. Marcia spent much time in Yosemite Valley, but she didn't paint its cliffs or falls. She told her daughter Erica "They're too well-known, too iconic. People just see the names--El Capitan, Vernal Fall, Half Dome--and don't see the colors or shapes any more." So she slipped away from popular sites and painted small scenes--a flower, a twisting root...
