FELINE WOMAN--AN ANATOMICAL PORTRAIT

Pencil, late 1990s, Chris Wayan.

After meeting so many cat people in my dreams, I wondered how they balanced on those digitigrade feet. So I did some Leonardo style anatomical studies. But the bones slowly faded and it grew to more a portrait than a study. I liked her character. Wish I had met her in a dream, but this is not a portrait from life like many dream-pictures on this site. I was just feeling my way into felinity--from how I feel, in my bones, when I dream I'm a cat myself...

Smiling cat-woman with bones visible beneath, and comparative sketch of humanoid/felinoid postures from above
