Kenneth Patchen was a writer and artist who fused his two media in "picture-poems", weaving calligraphy, cartooning and collage to create surreal little stories or vignettes a bit like Faith Hubley's animations. I grew up on his stuff and I see an influence. I highly recommend him for dreamers...
