I love how dancers look when seen over time, in strobe photos. Like weird undersea growths... at first I just wanted to capture that.

But as this picture grew, and I played with cloning the two dancers I'd drawn, their dance seemed to MEAN something. The dancers' chorus line on the left felt like a wall, the wall of academic and social conformity behind the pleasant face of Stanford University, where I was working...
