After reading Barbara Tuchman's history of the American Revolution, I rushed to my computer to paint this portrait of George in heaven dancing, his secret self free at last.

(Okay, I lied. I HAD just read Barbara Tuchman's book about Washington and the Revolution, but I didn't set out to draw him. I just had this sepia background, started playing with equal parts erasure and ink, and this dancer in the clouds appeared, and suddenly it had George's face, sort of, and wig, and... well...)
