ASHES, ASHES
44K, 640 x 480, 1995, nondream digital painting by Chris Wayan.
The collapse of civilizations, the plagues, the wars, the meltdowns... is it all a long-term game? "Ashes, ashes, all fall down" is now a children's rhyme, but it's over six centuries years old, about the Black Death.
The picture's about a newer plague, the one that's got me flat on my back--air pollution, especially the particulates that only in the last year or two have been proven to be the real killers.
She's green because she's the Earth. She's still sexy because I keep hoping, I keep hoping, I keep hoping.
