I HELD THE SUN ROSE

1989/6/18 digital picture provoking a surreal possibly-predictive dream that provoked a second painting, by Chris Wayan.

This started as an experiment in technique. I'd set up my paint program to make new colors spread from the hearts of old, forming concentric contours like a topo map. When it was done, I dreamed I was chasing stars with a long-tailed friend, and in the end we caught the Sun.
