WIDE FACE
48K, 640 x 480, 1992. Digital portrait: a face seen in a hypnogogic (falling-asleep) vision by Chris Wayan
A hobbit under Saruman's occupation, biding his time?
Or... is it possibly Snow White's eighth dwarf, the one Disney discreetly left out? I wonder if I can name them all from memory--Sneezy, Grumpy, Sleepy, Happy, Dopey, Doc... ummm... got it! Bashful! And this one, of course... good old Gothic.
I normally start from black or white, but here I tried a middle ground. Like the more complex WEB BIRD, I used twisting spiderwebs of virtual chalk and charcoal to build up the planes of the face, a feature unique to the old Amiga/PC program Deluxepaint, as far as I can tell.
