FIGURE DRAWING: NOW HOLD THAT POSE!

1989 Digital picture by Chris Wayan.

In my life-drawing class at San Jose City College in 1989, one model, Sashé, loved to make the sessions into a dramatic art, with props and parasols and weird poses, the sillier the better. Many beginning artists are uncomfortable with nudity, so life-drawing classes can be rather solemn places. Sashé had fun, so we relaxed and did too.
