KICK AUTHORITY

640 x 480, 1988-92. Digital picture by Chris Wayan

This was the first computer portrait I painted whose energy I really liked. The mare is named Silky. She's my anima, in dreams. Me, really.

She started out brown, and trapped in weird fleshy coralline growths, but gradually she turned tropical colors and moved underwater and cleared out some space around herself.

One thing stayed constant in all the versions: that bumper sticker motto. QUESTION authority? I don't want to. They always have excuses. Kick the habit. KICK AUTHORITY! To quote our ex evil empress, Nancy Reagan, "Just say no."
