YA-KELA, 55-58 S, 211-218 E
A cool-temperate land in the Ak'hai'i Cluster (south of Diomedes), 1200 km long and only 250 wide (750 by 160 mi), a bit like New Zealand's south island but 50% larger. Ya-Kela has a twin just to the east over Eltokh Sound: Prasiyo. (Source: World Without Stars)
Yanjeh R., 13-17 S, 108 E
The longest river on Ikrananka. From its source near central Mt Gundra it flows north 1000 km to the Polesotechnic Sea. The Yanjeh Basin is tropical forest, though not as rainy as the slopes of Mt Stepha to the east. (Source: The Trouble Twisters)
Yanvusarran, 35 S, 189 E
The east end of the Rorvan Islands, Yanvusarran is 160 km (260 mi) long and half as wide. The island is wooded, rainy and warm. (Source: Question and Answer)
Mt Yariz, 14 S, 148 E
Highest peak on Tharixan, at the east end of the Polesotechnic Strip south of Wersgorix. Yariz is 3200 m high (10,600'); from it, twisting lava flows fan out up to 400 km in all directions, making Tharixan look like a starfish yogi. (Source: The High Crusade)
Yarzik, 10 N, 108-109 E
Westernmost of the Hisagazi Islands (NE end of the Polesotechnic Strip), unless you count lonely little Tarou. Yarzik is a wedge of open tropical forest over 300 km on a side (200 mi). Low, steep ridges dissect the land into deep valleys accessible only by air or sea. One is flooded, winding 50 km into the SE coast, making a fine harbor. (Source: The Longest Voyage)
Mt Yildivan, 20 S, 132 E
Highest peak in Ulash, in the Polesotechnic Strip, Mt Yildivan is over 4100 m high (13,500'). That's just the high point of the long caldera rim; it's 70 km (45 mi) wide and nearly a mile deep, with a lake at the low west end. The grassy Yildivan highlands extend hundreds of km to Cape Bokzahan. (Source: The Master Key)
Ynvory, Ynvory Strait, 26-28 S, 14 E
Ynvory Strait, 900 km (560 mi) wide, separates the continents of Merseia and Starkad in the Flandry Cluster. Ynvory, off Cape Bedh in the strait, is a narrow, ridged island 400 km (250 mi) long. It's a stepping-stone for migratory fliers between the continents, shortening the flight over water to "only" 500 km (350 mi). Like the mainland, Ynvory's open subtropical forest. Yo Rork Peninsula, 58 S, 239 E
Eastern tip of Valland, in the Ak'hai'i Cluster (south of Diomedes). A hilly oval 150-200 km wide (90-125 mi), Yo Rork's a green ecological island: only a marshy trough links its forested hills to the drier, more open mainland. (Source: World Without Stars)
Yria Is., 61-64 S, 270-280 E
Northernmost and warmest of the antarctic Averorn Islands. Slender Yria is 650 km (400 mi) long and resembles Alaska; glaciers adorn central Mt Yria, but most of the uplands are living tundra and steppe, while the lowlands have wide boreal forests. The main difference is that polar Alaska is both colder and drier than the subarctic part, but Yria gets rainier as you head poleward. More trees grow on the south shore than the north. Ys, 38 N, 79 E
A green, fertile, leaf-shaped island 430 km (270 mi) long in the Bay of Ys off Cape Grimmins, in western Troisleons. (Source: Three Hearts and Three Lions)
Bay of Ys, 36-40 N, 80-85 E
A great triangular bay 1500 km (900 mi) on a side, off western Troisleons, between the Isle of Ys, Cape Grimmins, and Cape Avalon. The Tarnberg Range rises 4.5 km (nearly 15,000') above the southern shore. (Source: Three Hearts and Three Lions)
Ys Ocean, 0-45 N, 35-85 E
A pear-shaped northern ocean 3/4 the size of the Pacific, between Troisleons and Corona in the Ythri Cluster. Its narrow northern end's bounded by the Shielding Islands and the twin lands of Scania; the wide southern reaches, by the Fiery Islands and Troisleons' Cape Papillon, which continues thousands of km south as an undersea ridge alongside the Tarnberg Trench. (Source: Ys novels)
YTHRI CLUSTER, 10-40 N, 0-40 E
One of the three big continent-clusters on Lyr, totaling 15,750,000 sq km (6.2 M sq mi). Nearly 3/4 of that is Corona, the largest single landmass on Lyr: 11,430,000 sq km (4.5 M sq mi), bigger than Europe, Canada or the US, and with a temperate maritime climate. The other main lands: the Hesperian and Brendan Archipelagoes in the west, the Fiery Islands to the south including huge Lokon, and the Shielding Islands to the northeast. (Source: People of the Wind)
Yve, 57-59 N, 104-107 E
Southernmost of the Three Orfevres, northeast of Troisleons; a flyway east to Roland. Yve is a single ridge rising from the sea, 600 km (360 mi) long. The warmest of the Orfevres, though that's not saying much. Also the driest--groves in sheltered valleys, but bare grassy uplands.. (Source: Three Hearts and Three Lions)
