Dreamed 1996/5/29 by Chris Wayan
When I woke from this dream, still half convinced I was living in the Democratic Union of Species, giving IQ tests to small animals... I simply wrote what I remembered, as a story. Only later did I realize I wanted to draw it. The resulting comic was complex, fitting like a jigsaw on one page. Interlocked, it wouldn't cut easily into screensize panels, for the web. So it's one big page (850 x 1094, 171K). If you're screen's smaller, use the arrow keys to navigate.
If this is too big and slow, try the text version: The Otter's Mom. Still, if you've never see a picture of the Tasmanian Wolf (a spectacular example of parallel evolution--that striped, huge-jawed monster is a relative of wallabys not wolves!) it may be worth waiting while this loads: I referred to the few extant photos, but I drew from eyewitness memory--in a way, from life. Just life on another timebranch--when humans didn't kill them all before I was born.
