Marie Claude Girondé

Photo of painter Marie-Claude Girondé Girondé is a dream-artist who (her agent wrote me) often wakes in early morning and starts painting or sculpting a dream on the spot. I believe it: unlike many of her nondream works these have a predawn look--pale blues rising from darkness. They're mostly oil on canvas, often with built-up bas-relief. She generally posts a quotation instead of telling us her dreams directly, so all we can be sure of is that she dreams constantly and passionately of animals, especially equines--both horses and unicorns.

I've included a couple of her nondream Symbolist paintings that seem to be about her dreamwork, like Door of Eternity.
