Royalty and Aristocracy

Dream kings, queens, princes, princesses... They were common as dirt in fairytales, and such figures show up in dreams often, too--even the dreams of an egalitarian hippie-kid like me. No wonder...

Through grandiose exaggeration, royal trappings can clarify a family's roles and stereotypes.
They can also express one's feeling of uniqueness--of self-consciousness itself (sometimes just egotism, but often the Self--the natural ruler of the whole personality).
They can also stand for responsibility. Noblesse oblige!
When dream-aristocrats are arrogant or oppressive, they may mean either the conscious mind or childhood voices you're still obeying--topdogs, in Fritz Perls' terminology. Smooth-talking characters who make their views sound so plausible it's hard to disagree--to their faces. But sometimes you need a little peasant revolution. Just try not to make it too French! The heads you roll may be your own.
