Tolkien and Middle Earth

Growing up, I read "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings" at least eleven times. Together, the set runs nearly 1800 pages--you do the math. The hours I spent reading Tolkien were more than, well, than the hours than I spent not reading Tolkien. My dreams still reflect it--of all the borrowed fantasy worlds I dreamed myself into, Middle Earth is the only one so recurrent it needed its own subject heading.

Oops, I was wrong. Embarrassing though it is to admit it, I also have Star Trek dreams up the wazoo.
