BIRDSUIT
Dreamed and drawn 1983/2/17 (tinted 2001) by Chris Wayan
Remember the seventies show Three's Company, with Suzanne Somers as Chrissie the ditz? One night I dreamed I was her housemate, Jack Tripper. We were all at the beach, and in between the usual lame flirtations we all agreed to go check out the new feathered suits that let you fly...
So it ends in sitcom jokes and lame sexual innuendo, just as it started. But that's "Three's Company" for you!
The moral? Hmm. Maybe there is one, after all:
You CAN fly before you have your feathers.
You CAN do the impossible!
You CAN fly--NOW!
It's just more work. So maybe you might as well wait, anyway. On the other hand, it got me a lot of attention in the dream. Was it worth it? Depends what type you are:
- Some have faith they'll get wings by and by: "fly in the sky when you die."
- But some of us are born impatient; we try to fly featherless.
-
Well, and some were born to run around in their underwear trying to save those of us who try to fly featherless.
-
Worse yet, there are those who were born to get knocked down and yelled at by strange women in their underwear running around trying to save those who try to fly featherless.
-
Worst of all, there are those who were born to look for wisdom in dream-comics about those who were born to get knocked down and yelled at by strange women in their underwear running around trying to save those who try to fly featherless.
Pick a number.
