International Association for the Study of Dreams
In memory of Stephanie Van Zandt Nelson

The International Association for the Study of Dreams is the largest dream organization in the world. Its annual conventions have included art shows since (I think) 1996; online galleries based on these shows may be the longest ongoing sampler of dream art on the Web (the World Dream Bank's first incarnation, Spinning Dreams, dates to 1995-96). There are two parallel series of galleries, the Dream Art Exhibition Archives and the Psiber Art Conference galleries. Sadly, the early galleries of both are low-resolution and buggy, with a lot of dead links; and many weren't actually dream art. So this is just my selection out of many hundreds. I've included less from recent galleries as they are more easily accessed; see https://www.asdreams.org/dream-art-exhibition-archive.

Two listings below aren't from the IASD archives. One's a 1994 interview of me conducted by the late Stephanie Van Zandt Nelson of the Bay Area Dreamworkers' Guild, an ancestor of the IASD. She nurtured dream-artists' careers; this interview encouraged me, a year later, to build Spinning Dreams, the first large online dream-art gallery. She seems largely forgotten today--but she was a mentor for me and other dream-art pioneers like Jenny Badger Sultan.

The other's Sea-Parade, by dream-cartoonist Rick Veitch, that's a dream about the IASD--contrasting its focus on warty authenticity with the saccharine fantasies of Disney Corporation and all its capitalist buddies.
